The Great Indian Desert, also known as the Thar Desert, is characterized by its arid climate, very low rainfall, and sparse vegetation. It receives less than 150 mm of rainfall annually, which is why it has a dry, sandy landscape with very little plant life, primarily thorny bushes and scrub, not dense forests.
