2. Poor Peasantry: They sought the remission of unpaid rent to landlords, often aligning with radical socialist and communist movements.
3. Business Class: Industrialists desired protection against foreign imports and a favorable rupee-sterling exchange rate to boost local industry. Swaraj signified removing colonial trade barriers.
4. Industrial Working Class: Though less extensive, some workers participated, boycotting foreign goods and linking the movement to their struggles against low wages and poor conditions.
5. Women: Many women joined, viewing it as a patriotic duty, which also provided an unprecedented opportunity for public life and empowerment.
